racism and faith – engaging in important contemplative conversations

May 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Event Series Event Series (See All)

For two evenings in May, JCMI will be offering opportunities to have contemplative conversations around the intersection of faith and racism.

Each week, we will have a different documentary or movie for participants to take in the week prior to our virtual gathering. There will be prompts provided to stir your thoughts and feelings and prepare you for our contemplative discussions (not debates). These are vitally important moments as we look at our whole selves in the midst of the whole world in which we live.

A different co-leader will join JCMI’s Jennifer Andersson each time as we hold space for reflection and stirrings.

These virtual gatherings will be held from 7:30-9:00pm EST

Monday, May 20th – True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight for Equality

with co-host, John Sullivan-Knoff

Tuesday, May 28th – The Color Purple (1985)

 with co-host William Mack III

Mark your calendars and please join us. RSVP here. PLEASE NOTE – You are encouraged but not required to attend both evenings to receive the prompts  and zoom links for each week.
